As a Murdock Martell consultant, you will get exposed to engaging entrepreneurs and diverse industries which keep things fresh and interesting. This role can either be part-time or full-time and is mostly remote with occasional in-person client or firm meetings. Only seeking candidates who live in either California or Nevada.

Role Responsibilities:

• Strong foundation of US GAAP reporting
• Month-end close
• Consolidation accounting preferred
• Financial statement preparation
• Financial analysis and budgeting preferred
• Full-cycle A/P and A/R
• G/L reconciliations
• Revenue recognition
• Payroll interface, full cycle processing - Gusto, Rippling, TriNet, Justworks, and ADP
• Support for various accounting projects
• Hands on experience with QuickBooks Online and NetSuite
• Hands on experience with Bill.com, Expensify, Ramp, BREX or Rippling
• Proficient in Excel
• Experience with startups, technology and/or life science companies

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, MBA, or CPA preferred
• Public accounting audit training and experience, ideally Big 4 preferred
• Minimum 5+ years relevant experience
• 1+ years’ experience with Bill.com and Ramp
• 1+ years’ experience working at a start-up company
• 2+ years’ experience with QuickBooks online
• Proficient in Excel
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing start-up environment
• SAAS and/or Life Sciences experience is a plus
• Experience with NetSuite
• Experience with Expensify and Ramp, BREX or Rippling
• Syft Analytics experience a plus
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Superior written and oral communication skills

Our salary range is based on paying competitively for our size and industry. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. The range shared is for the expectations as laid out in the job description.
 
Salary range: $95k-$110k
